MBSR - Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction ...

... is aimed at helping people to deal effectively with stress and its related symptoms through practices of mindfulness. However, it is also for anyone who wishes to enhance their general well-being. One of the main purposes of the program is to integrate mindfulness into everyday life. In this context mindfulness means directing your attention kindly and intentionally to the present moment without immediately evaluating the experiences that occur, and thus creating space for oneself. Self-care and compassion go hand in hand. The program offers very concrete help for self-help. MBSR is an evidence-based programme originally developed at the University of Massachusetts by Prof. Jon Kabat-Zinn.

"When we give ourselves the chance to let go of all our tension, the body’s natural capacity to heal itself can begin to work."

Thich Nhat Hanh

“Meditation is a way of being, not a technique. Meditation is not about trying to get anywhere else. It is about allowing yourself to be exactly where you are and as you are, and the world to be exactly as it is in this moment, as well.”

Jon Kabat-Zinn
